Oh, Hillary

I realize this next statement is going to make me very unpopular, but…

I hate Hillary Clinton.

I know it is not the trendy opinion, especially among women, but I just cannot stand her. I don’t trust her, I don’t like her, and I would never, ever vote for her to be my next president. Which sucks, because I so badly want to see a woman as president—just not her.

And whenever I discuss this with Clinton supporters, the argument I always hear is, “To be a woman making it in a man’s world, you have to be a bitch.” I could not disagree more. What is this telling our children? That you have to be mean, conniving, corrupt and ill-tempered to make a career and name for yourself? That you have to be a bitch to make it to the top? This is a horrible example for today’s youth. I consider myself successful and on the incline and I certainly do not think I am a bitch! I go out of my way to do the right thing—the good thing—the nice thing.

In a world full of “role-models” like Paris Hilton and Anna Nicole Smith, Hillary Clinton is an obvious step up. But there are other women in this world doing amazing things—but who are also genuinely good people. These are the women I someday want my daughters to look up to. Ambassador Carol Moseley Brown, for one. An amazing and dynamic woman with a heart of gold!

What do you think? Do you think that Senator Clinton's actions and attitude is justified because that's what is necessary to make it in today’s world?

I hate her... I really do... that's a mean thing to say, but I don't trust her at all. I respect how far she's come, how much she's cracked the glass ceiling, but I still don't want her as president... sorry.

Out of the Democratic Candidates, I liked Barrack Obama - he's a fantastic speaker, a really charismatic person... but... here comes the but, because he actually was in line to get my vote and it would have been the first Democratic Presidential vote I've ever cast (I have cast democratic votes for other offices, depends on who's running but that's another story)

I've read and heard his wife's speeches... Did you hear the one about pie? Seriously, and a room full of people were cheering that one... if you didn't hear it, she basically reiterated the the communist manifesto, except she made it about good old pie, instead of blatantly saying - YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY....

Her basic speech was, "most Americans don't want a whole pie. Most Americans only want a slice of pie... so it's up to each of us to only take the bit of pie we want so that others can have a slice too" - okay, hello socialism.... I paid for the flour, I kneaded the dough, I picked the fruit, mixed the filling and baked the blasted thing... I have a family to feed with that pie and if I want to be hospitable and give out pieces of pie, I should get to choose who I'm giving them to - Personally, I think the Obama's should start giving out their own friggin pie and keep their hands out of mine.

Why is it every politician who spews socialism covers it in some bullshit allegory anyway - tell them you want to take the money they earn and give it to people who don't have as much... specify that because it's government, and therefore beurocracy run, that dispersment may not be fair or just - meaning that for your forty hours of work, twenty of them will be unpaid and those wages that you do not get will go evenly to people who need it and people who just don't flippin feel like working... it will go evenly to people who need a hand and those that play the system... and that's actually a kind assessment - beaurocracy rarely runs well, the people who make the most out of it are almost always the ones who know how to scam rather than the ones who could use a hand up and will pay in when they're on their feet... the latter type of people are the ones who end up living in their cars.

Okay, I'm done ranting... thank you for the vent.

I loathe Hillary Clinton. I have since she was the First Lady (though she has a yummy looking chicken recipe that I saw in a chicken cookbook once). That aside, I have three comments to make about her running for president.

1. Her platform right now (aside from being a woman) is taking the manufacturing freehand away from China. I'm all for that. What I'm not all for is her glossing over the fact that it was her husband that caused this whole products-made-in-China problem in the first place. Just admit it woman!

2. Running on the platform of "experience"? Experience at what? Being a Senator? All of the candidates are Senators! Former president? Oh, so you're admitting that you ran the White House- not Bill. Nice to know that all of the jokes we R's were making about you and your DH were true. Come on, tell us. what experience?

3. To all of the feminists who want Hilary elected: No you don't. You see any woman elected and think "Yippeee! The way is clear!". No. If Hilary gets elected, I can guarantee you that we will never have another woman president for the next hundred years. Seriously. Everytime a woman tries to run for office, all you'll hear is "Yeah, but remember what happened when we let Hilary in office?".

That being said, I may vote for her. Why? Because hubby promised that we could move to Scotland if she gets elected. :)

(Side note about Obama- he's better than Hilary, but seems to think that the presidency actually has the power to do the things he says he'll do. That's delusional. And, I never trust a charismatic leader. However, he'd be a good face to the world, which is mostly what a president is.)

Wow...I never knew this would stem such amazing and long responses! I was nine years old (I think) when the Clinton's entered the white house...and I remember not liking her back THEN. So you can imagine how my hatred has festered since! I think so far that Obama is greater of all evils...I'm not truly a fan of anyone so far which is such a shame. I used to really like Obama, but as I learn more, that is dwindling.
